Careers

A day before the last day of Extreme Techno Camp Mrs. Linda Savage and Mrs. Ward talked to us about how important it was for us to get a good career and good education. We got different information about Financial Aid and how to get it. They also talked about the different careers that we might be interested in. I still don't know what career I want to get but with all the help that I got it will be easier!

Video Game Development

We had two days to learn about Video Game development. The first day we learned about lightwave, 3D, and Maya. Mr. Spiegal talked about what a game is and all the components that are related to a game. We also went into Dark Basic. We also made different sounds of the different characters that in the Dark Basic game. The second day we actually went in the source and edited the sounds to the sounds that we had made. They sounded pretty good and i had fun playing it after.

Blog Talk Radio

The radio works to announce things, play music, and talk to people and so does the television. But you can do all those things with blog talk radio it works the same way but on the computer. We went in and each of us individually did our own radio show, we had 30 minutes. pick up calls and talk about anything related to Extreme Techno Camp. I had a lot of fun in my own show I talked to Mrs. Andrews about shoes and other things. It was very fun.

Digital Sound/Video

Digital Sound/Video are very related, to make a video you need sound. We did a fun activity with Mr. Curran the other day in school. What we did is we went out and recorded many different things. The next day we went in the computer and edited the video, like take out parts of the video or make them longer or shorter. It was very interesting to mess with the video and sound.

Video

Programming with Alice

Programming with Alice was fun we got to experiment with the software and make the different characters move and animate them. It was pretty fun! The thing that I liked the most that we could click on the different parts of the characters and animate them one by one. We also put them on E-Campus and showed it to the rest of the class and got points for the animation, the If/Else statements and the characters that we had.

Reel FX

Today we went on a field trip to Reel FX where we learned about animations and other things that are related to animation. We learned that they have to go through alot of pre-writing and drawing before they come up with the right image of what the cartoon and animation is going to look like. They also took a tour through the building and saw all the different stations that they have.

I enjoyed taking this trip to Reel FX it was a great experience. I also took time to think about if I want to do this, because it's really interesting and fun.

Voice Over IP

On Thursday we did a cool and fun activity that I enjoyed alot. We learned about Skype. Skype is a very cool way to keep in touch with anyone that is in your state or not in your state. In the class we did a project where we had to communicate with other classmates and ask questions about them and what they like. We also got to transfer files and play games with each other in the computer. It was very fun I would like to do it again.

Computer Security

Not only do hackers get in your house but also in your computer. That is why you need to keep your information safe, because you can also have personal information in your computer and the hacker can take over it.

Smart Home Technology

Smart Home Technology is a very interesting topic because it has to do with all the technology in your home. Starting from networking to security. Security is one of the most important things in your home because it keeps you and your family safe from people that want to brake into your house. The other day in Techno Camp class Mr. Carranza explained to us about all about home security and other sound and audio things that we need to know. We also connected the cameras around the classroom and saw ourselves on the computer it was very fun.

Hardware/Network Troubleshooting

Learning about computers doesn't only have to do with software but also with hardware and troubleshooting. Computers are made up of different components on the inside and the whole concept itself is called hardware. Now I know some of the components that computers are made of even though I still need to learn all the other things that I don't know. But it is very interesting. On Monday we also did a very interesting activity, we took the some parts of the inside of the computer and we had to put it back in place. It was hard but I liked it.

Flash

What I enjoy the most about this topic is that you can make animations with just about anything that you can think of. I understand this concept but what I still nedd some practice. I would want to learn more about how to use Flash and i think that it would be a great idea if you would learn too. This technology would benefit the cartoon animators. These are the people that deal with what little kids watch everyday. Wouldnt you want to learn how to do this too?

Dreamweaver

On Wednesday in our Techno Camp class we created a website and i really enjoyed doing that. The thing that still confuses me about Dreamweaver is the HTML files. I want to learn more about how Dreamweaver works and how it came to be what it is now. This technology would help website creaters.

1. Enjoy the most about the topic? I enjoyed the fact that we could go and edit photos and makes changes.

My view of technology

My view of this picture is technology being used. Technology is changing daily and I hope to show some of those trends through this class.
